The Blogstar Community Is Ready For You!

Blogstar Community is waiting to be unwrapped

It’s Sunday afternoon and I am having one of those moments when I’m struck by how awesome you all are. I am often humbled by your industrious talents, and this afternoon particularly so thanks to a conversation I had last night over dinner with friends.

Along with my husband and two dear friends, we had dinner at Lyon Bouchon Moderne on Greenwich Ave in the West Village. It’s a French restaurant we’ve been wanting to try since Fall last year, and it didn’t disappoint.

After waiting patiently (most of the time) this past week for my husband to aclimatize to NYC after spending four months in Sydney running his OpenAir film festival, I was super excited to be going out to dinner with him and seeing our friends.

So of course I had champagne to start, followed by a watermelon, mint and feta salad. I then switched to a glass of red to go with my roasted salmon on quinoa mixed with wild rice and wilted spinach. We finished by sharing profiteroles and tarte tartin. It was a treat.

The friends we had dinner with, Emma and Harry, are moving to LA next month because Harry has signed with a Hollywood studio to write a screenplay and needs to be based in LA. Emma has a celebrity branding agency and works with stars such as Naomi Watts, so being in LA makes sense for her, too. What they wanted to know, though, was all about this thing called blogging! So I told them about all of you. They were fascinated and intrigued and I realized how often I forget that not every knows about you all. But I am working on that!

Particularly, I am putting the finishing touches to our new online community. It’s clear to me that we’ve outgrown our closed FB group and require something that can be tailored to meet our needs for connecting and collaborating through friendships and partnerships while helping you all do better, be it with a personal or professional blog.

Thank you to all who took the time to fill out the Blogstar Survey I sent out recently. I’ve just finished tabling the results and I have a clearer picture as to what Blogstar means to you:

A place where bloggers can connect, collaborate, support and learn from one another,  and whether your blog is personal or professional,  find opportunities to do better.

So let’s do this.

I would love to launch our online community before the end of March (it will sit here on Blogstar) with a number of groups in place that focus on topics you are passionate about. It could be something as collaborative as Let’s Be Pintellectuals (a place to share ideas and tips on how to best use Pinterest), for example, or as particular as your brand/business/blog offering a service to the Blogstar community via an interactive group.

If you haven’t already registered your blog with Blogstar, please do so today.

If you are interested in sharing an idea for a group for the launch, or being a group leader, please email me at sbrydenbrown [at] gmail [dot] com with your thoughts, suggestions, questions.

Happy Sunday.

Hi Sarah! What a fab idea – its much needed as I find there’s no real destination for this type of info that’s both informative AND in a friendly, talking-to-a-girlfriend style of tone. Plus in this case it will be a great place to make connections with other like minded bloggers! I’m all for it and wishing you success!!!

It’s going to be so much fun working with you all to make this bigger and better for everyone. I’ve had great suggestions and offers for groups and because Blogstar is agnostic it means everyone is welcome and that will make it work harder for all.
