It’s funny to me when people think blogging is such an isolated experience. For some, that’s how they like it. They want to keep it online. They can write and be a part of a community and not have to meet anyone in person. But for me, it’s all about the offline. That is what has changed my life as a blogger. I jumped in with two feet, business cards and craft supplies in hand.

Aside from the whole experience of blogging — writing, crafting, the ability to earn a living, developing my craft, involving my children, and sharing my passion — one of the greatest things to come from blogging is the people I’ve met. It was so unexpected. My blog is all about the crafts. But when I took it to a business level perspective, started to network, grow, and conference hop, I was opened up to a whole new amazing blogging bff (best friends forever) world. These women are my peeps. They are my tribe. They get me. We are all in the thick of it, learning and growing together.

In photo above, here are just a few of the many women I call friend: Allison of Petit Elefant, Jane of This Week for Dinner, Kami of No Biggie, Rachael of TodaysMama, Heather of Dollar Store Crafts, Laurie of Tip Junkie, Cindy of Skip to my Lou, Christine of Bostonmamas, Carina of The Jet Set, Jyl of Mom it Forward, Heather of Rookie Moms, Kelly of According to Kelly

I have a handful of new best friends, who I’ve felt like we’ve known each other for years, years! The kind of friendships that will be forever. Many have changed my life. We cheer each other on, encourage, support, have late night phone calls, and share each other’s experiences. A lot of what drives me to continue is the relationships I’ve made.

So I have to thank the internets, the weblogs, the inventors of all things blog, for giving me this gift of friendship. Something so unanticipated, something I never knew I needed. Hooray for blogging!

I hope you enjoyed Marie’s post, which is part of an on-going series on Blogstar. If you would like to contribute your own My Life As A Blog post, please email me at sbrydenbrown[at]gmail[dot]com.

I am the unofficial President of the Marie LeBaron fan club. Thanks for featuring her here, and I’m honored to be referenced (especially since Marie doesn’t know I’m the unofficial president of her fan club). :-)

  4. All those pictures of friends fills me with such warmth! Indeed, the absolute best thing about this “job” that none of us expected.

It’s so wonderful when you venture into something new and you love it more each day – mostly because of all the unexpected benefits.

I so agree! And blogging is the only job where I am continually surprised with unexpected joyful benefits! You just never know what or who is waiting for you around the corner.

  6. Aww, thanks Marie! I love knowing you and seeing your work online and kicking back with you offline (even though you usually make me run).

Yay, Marie! I feel so lucky to have you here in Seattle. Here’s to getting to know each other and hanging out more in 2012. xoxo

  8. Marie – I loved meeting you at Alt & I love what you wrote here. I feel the same way! I just started blogging 4 months ago and prior to that had no idea how connected the blogging community was… I love it.

  9. I completely agree – I had no idea I would form such intimate and incredible friendships through blogging. Had I known, I would have started sooner!
