Here’s the thing about books. They don’t really sell themselves. People do. So rather than rely only on the author to get out and about spruiking his or her book (and not all authors are actually good at this bit) a little support from fans online can make a lot of people happy, including booksellers, authors and readers.
That’s why I invited five of my favorite design bloggers to celebrate the launch of Deborah Needleman’s new book The Perfectly Imperfect Home. If you were a Domino devotee, you will love this book.
Yesterday we launched the celebration package on Kirtsy with Erin Loechner from Design For Mankind who illustrated the chapter titled, A Personal Narrative, bringing to it not only her charm and perspective but an easy how-to by sharing Deborah’s complementary quotes from the book.
Today, Rachel Jones from Black Eiffel celebrates the chapter, Bath As A Room, followed tomorrow by Liz Stanley from Say Yes To Hoboken with her clever interpretation of the chapter, A Bit Of Quirk. Kirsten Grove from Simply Grove delights us on Thursday with her presentation of the chapter, Nice Lighting, and on Friday, Victoria Smith from SF Girl By Bay ends the party with her take on the chapter, Dinner With Friends.
You can win a copy of Deborah’s book just by commenting on the Kirtsy Facebook Fan Page. Each day we are giving away two copies, so have your say!
At first I was a little hesitant to read Deborah’s book, The Perfectly Imperfect Home, but did, and loved it. My hesitation was not that it wouldn’t be full of awesome-ness, as it was, no, my concern was that it would bring back that sense of loss I’ve learnt to live with ever since the closing of Domino. Deborah, can you please start a Domino-esque-ish blog?

Thank you so much for mentioning this book! I’m in crazy redecoration mode and I’m hungry for inspiration. This book definitely fits the bill!
You’ll love it!
